Basis Functions of the Color Signal of Skin under Different Illuminants
نویسنده
چکیده
The skin color signal is the product of skin reflectances and spectral power distribution of illuminants. In this paper we use principal component analysis to obtain basis functions for an ensemble of skin color signals and test the reconstruction goodness with different number of basis functions and types of normalization. We demonstrate the usefulness of the basis functions in two applications: (1) the reconstruction of new skin color signals which are due to the combination of two light sources that simultaneously impinge on the skin, and (2) the computation of the “skin locus” of a color camera, which is the range of possible skin chromaticities that the camera can measure.

Prediction of color reproduction for skin color under different illuminants based on the color appearance models
In this paper, we study a color reproduction method to match the appearance of skin color images on CRT with a hardcopy under various viewing illuminants. Three color appearance models, von Kries, Fairchild and CIELAB, were applied to predict color reproduction on CRT display. Optimum color appearance model to predict color reproduction was estimated by psychophysical experiments based on the m...
متن کاملThe Use of a Selective Database Technique in Order to Recover the Spectra of a Series of Acrylic Paints by the Principle Component Analysis
A procedure for an efficient recovering of reflectance spectra of Acrylic paint samples from CIE tristimulus color values is described. By fixing a certain criteria based on color difference value, the proposed technique preliminarily selects a series of suitable samples from a main dataset containing the reflectance values of a series of different Acrylic paint samples, based on the color ...
متن کاملPrincipal component analysis of skin color and its application to colorimetric color reproduction on CRT display and hardcopy
In this paper, we propose a new method to predict the images on a CRT and a hardcopy of skin color under various illuminants. Spectral reflectance of human skin is analyzed by principal component analysis and it is shown that the spectral reflectance can be estimated by three basis functions. The estimation allows colorimetric color reproduction without colorimetric measurements for each illumi...
متن کاملColor Reproduction of Facial Pattern and Endoscopic Image Based on Color Appearance Models
Declaration This is to certify that this work has been done by me and it has not been submitted elsewhere for the award of any degree or diploma. Abstract In recent years, many imaging systems have been developed, and it became increasingly important to exchange image data through the computer network. Therefore, it is required to reproduce color independently on each imaging device. In the stu...
متن کاملA Study of Relationship Between Color Inconstancy Level and CIELAB Color Coordinates
In commercial point of view, it is of great interest to find colors with high color constancy level. Color constancy as a relatively property of object’s appearance could be affected by different factors. In this article, the color inconstancy index of CMCCON02 and CIELAB color coordinate of 1269 samples of Munsell at CIELchº color system to study any correlations, was calculated. The correspon...
